Xmas card (1)

Hello everyone,

It's been a few days since I've last posted but I don't why, my "mojo" was down... I was at my desk but didn't feel like scrapping. Yesterday however, my local LSS offered 20% off the whole store, so there I went... bought some stuff and came home to play around with my new toys (Hero Arts stamps, different dies and embossing folders for the Big Shot...).

So, here is the result, a card created for the Freshly Made Sketches challenge of the week!

As you (may) know, I'm pretty new to the cardmaking world, so I kept it pretty simple! I am really happy though because I used my inks to colour and it felt good :p

So, here is my take:

And a close-up of the inking/watercolour painting:

STASH USED

* The distress inks, I've had them for a long while
* The floss (which I inked with Peeled Paint distress ink to have it match the colours of my card)
* The button of course!!

WHAT I LIKE ABOUT THIS CARD

* Even if it's pretty simple, I really like my painting! I am pretty scared of cards... and stamps because you can't just stamp and that's it! I always feel like working with this kind of stamp is hard work and that I won't be able to make it... But I did and I'm truly happy!! Plus, I used my distress, which hadn't REALLY been used in a while, so that's a plus!!

  8. I love it!! I always feel a bit intimidated by images that require a lot of colouring too. Especially hair!! When I feel like that, I just dig out some images that that only require stamping and no colouring, then I feel better!! The cards end up just as nice :)
