Just five more minutes !

Hello everyone,

Sooooo, here is the last page I managed to make for Shimelle's cropping weekend. I enter it for challenge #11: Two Patterns. The goal was to mix two contrasting patterns. I chose a photo that had been sitting in my stash for quite a while because I knew which PP I wanted to use: the "Olivia" collection by BG.

So, here is my take:

To make this embellishment, I folded in 4 four doilies, I put some ink. Then, I covered a circle with silver paint and wanted to heat-set it. I ABSOLUTELY didn't know this would happen but I was REALLY happy with the results! Love happy accidents!

Also made those embellies. I used Shimelle aka Glitter Girl's tutorial to create them. The brads are all from the Kraft Funday collection by MME.

Made the small tag with a Tim Holtz Alterationsdie. For the big one, I stamped the back of a MME one with a Fiskars stamp and Jenni Bowlin ink in Cough syrup.

Cut the small letters with my "Blackboard Blues Alphabet" by Sizzix.

Those small beautiful letters are from the Fabulous collection by Simple Stories

* The bold colours

I am amazed at how many posts I wrote this week! Aren't you?

Today is  a special day because I get to go vote for out new president. In France, everyone gets to vote and it happens in two turns. The first turn, we vote for whoever got signatures from 500 mayors and then, in two weeks, we'll be voting for one of the two "finalists". Anyway, even if I live in Canada, I get to go voting.

Anyway, enough with the seriousness, let's get scrappy (not that it's any less serious). I played with another one of Shimelle's challenges: "Challenge 5: Inspiration Points". Shimelle presented a great page by Wilna F. and we had to use it as an inspiration.

So, here is my take on it:

See the round blue thingie, I made it myself... Wow :p

Used some dies by Kési'Art. Finally some French stuff!

And I stamped, I stamped, I stamped... **HAPPY**

INSPIRATION POINTS:

* I kept the idea of a picture taking the whole width, but I used two pics instead of one
* I used the idea of the white butterflies on white background
* I clustered on the left


STASH USED:

* Some of the stamps ("love", "cherish")
* The butterfly punch is getting "old" and I think I finally used it enough to say that I "got the best out of it"... I mean that I used it enough to say that it's not an expensive purchase anymore. I don't know how to say it in English raaaaaaaah, I hate that!
* In general, I've had this paper in my stash for a while because it's the one I use to scrap my brother's wedding pics :)


WHAT I LIKE ABOUT THIS LO:

* I stamped... And several times with that!
* I used my Big Shot quite a lot :) And I am happy I used those dies because I must admit that I hadn't seen how expensive they were before I got home... So I need to use them big time!
* I like that I made my own embellish. I had made it for another LO but hadn't used it. And I'm glad I thought about it whe making this one!!
* I like how I took a LO and made it my own :)

I decided to play along one of Shimelle's sketches... Too bad I haven't had time to do more of them... I'll try to finish one or two more though 'cause they were really awesome!

So, this time, I chose "Challenge #9: Take your pick". We had to choose an outdated challenge and play! Since I had never seen any, I chose one of the "UKScrappers" challenges (for March).

And here is my take on it:

I used some beautiful Fiskars stamps I hadn't really used before.

I cut some flowers out of my "Plumeria" 6x6 pad from BG

Used some Liquid Pearls for the first time in my life!!! :) It's not perfect yet but I like the result

More pearls, more journaling and some handwriting :)

REALLY quick post today to share a card I made for my cousin's birthday. Unfortunately, I won't be able to attend the big even :( but I wanted to send him a nice card anyway!

I bought a 6x6 BoBunny paper pad some time ago coz it was so stinkn' cute! So I knew exactly what paper I wanted to use :) And then, I tried to come up with a card on my own, no sketch or anything.

And here is the result:


I layered four hearts one on top of each other. Then, I stamped my sentiment and cut it into a banner shape. I wanted another "Congratulations" one at first, but it was too long, so I settled for this one. I also inked all the edges with "Broken China" distress ink. What is it with this blue that makes it so amazing? I also had a beautiful heart stamp that I had never really used, so I stamped it in the inside :). And I finished it off with the three rhinestones, to break the monotony!

So, as planned, I didn't post last week because my dad came to visit me, together with my step-mother and my sister. It was great, it felt good to see them and I already miss them a lot!

So, this week end, I tried to play along Shimelle's scrappy weekend! I used the page she first posted and scraplifted it, as asked.

Today, I am sharing a LO I made using one of Shimelle's sketches.



And here is what I came up with, using some old and new products I just got yesterday!! (massive haul... hum hum).

Used some Thickers from my stash and I tuck memorabilia from my birthday in the homemade pocket!

I even included the little blackboard we put on tables for the names :)

Something better than a lil' cluster? The small pocket is from the Smash books :)

Added some fiber at the bottom to add some blue. The square on the left is from MME

Nothing better than a rub-on final touch!
