***A fairy-tale like come back***

Hi everyone,

**Doing the walk/typing of shame here**

Last time I came by, I said I would start posting every week or more (Don't want to check... too ashamed again), and here I am, 6... *****6***** months later!

Well, let's give this blog the love it deserves by posting a card I made for my 4-year old nephew! He is in France so I miss a lot... but still, I know he is into dragons! (Just this morning, some dragons decided to attack his Playmobils.)

Sooo, I used some Lawn Fawn stamps, Spellbinders dies and beautiful papers to put my dragon in the sky!

The light is not great, but we can see well the shadows created with the foam squares.

A few close-ups, just because I can :)

Love the little stamped heart.
And the vellum clouds!

WHAT I LIKE ABOUT THIS CLOUD:
* I used some new products and some older ones
* I love the background paper, that pictures sort of a sun
* LOVE LOVE my Wink of Stella pen :)

Well, I'll keep it short (again... to increase my chances of posting more)

Thanks!

*** Christmas tree card ***

I could say I didn't realize how long it had been... but I knew... It seems that time slips through my hands... And when I get to be home, I am too lazy to post... SUCH A SHAME!!

So, I decided to take advantage of my Christmas cards to be better. I'll try and post at least two to three times a week!

And I start with a simple card I made using some Lawn Fawn goodies...

It was pretty simple to make. I die cut the tree on the top panel, stamped the corresponding tree on the bottom one... Used some CAS-ual Friday sentiment at the bottom and put some stickles on top to have it stand out a bit more. I drew some faux stitching around and I finished it off with a silver star.

If I want to make it through the month, I believe it would be safer to keep it short and sweet!

WHAT I LIKE ABOUT THIS CARD:

* It's quite original in terms of colours
* It's soft
* I used quite a few products

Talk to you soon!!

*** G. ***

Hi everyone,

A dear friend of mine mentioned that I hadn't posted in forever... And now I see that it's been a month again... SOOOooOOOO, I guess it's time for me to post, indeed!

If everything goes well, my fiancé and I should get married in Sept. in France. I am planning on displaying a few pages as a decoration :) Since my family is from France and his is from Tunisia, telling our story means telling our everyday.. And this includes my lovely kitty cat!

For this page, I used a Studio Calico sketch. It was pretty simple but I love those kind of grid designs. And, for once, I'm happy with the result :)

Here are a few close-ups.

Center

Bottom right

WHAT I LIKE ABOUT THIS LO

* I machine stitched
* I made mistakes and I was not afraid of starting again
* I hand stitched
* I stamped
* I used mists (to paint the Pink Paislee "G"
* I created my own embellies (the circles and stars on the right, the ticket at the top)

PRODUCT USED

* Papers are from Basic Grey, the Serenade collection
* Stamps are Hero Arts and Aladine

Short and sweet... But better than nothing :) Maybe I should try that more often!

How is your summer going by the way?? Do you have any fun planned?

See you soon (I hope!)

***Untitled***

Hi everyone,

It's been a while, but less than usual, so I'm kind of happy!! :-p

I just made a new page this week.

I am really happy with this page, which took quite some time to make!

"Whyyyy?" Well.. I'm happy you ask! I made kind of a subway art/ombre background in blue. I took different sizes and font of letter stickers that I gessoed. Once dried, I painted the top ones in blue, then added more and more white to the blue paint in order to get a lighter blue.

Here is what it looks like...

Then, I put a sheet of vellum and added my picture, paper and few embellies. Nothing much because the background is pretty busy and I didn't want to distract from it. I didn't even put a title, as you can see!

The clock is a Prima marketing
wood veneer on which I applied some stain
and some glimmer mist in blue.

I finally found some sequins...
I feel that I'm going to get crazy with it.
Added a wood veneer on which I applied
some distress stain!
WHAT I LIKE ABOUT THIS LAYOUT

* The background of course! It took a few hours, but I believe the result is worth it!
* I used some ribbon, YAYYYYYYY
* I think the sequins look gorgeous, it's such a nice addition

Well, that's all for today ladies!

Thank youuuuu for stopping by and see you soon :)

Blue and black thank you card!

Hi everyone,

See how it's been two days and not two months??

I am up with a new card today... I used this LO from Corrie Jones as an inspiration and I must admit that I am really happy with the result!

And here are a few close-ups:

I inked the wood veneer, stamped a speech
bubble in black and embossed my sentiment
in blue. I cut out the jar and stamped "Friend" on it.

Just because I like the view with the card.
WHAT I LIKE ABOUT THIS CARD

* The fact I used a LO and turned it into a card
* The colour scheme
* I used LOTS of washi
* I used different mediums (wood, embossing, feathers)

PRODUCTS USED

* I am not sure of the washi brand... Bought it out of a basket
* The little cut-out comes from the "Yes, please" 6x6 pad from Amy Tan
* Wood veneers are Studio Calico inked with "Frost white" pigment ink from ColorBox

Keep posted to see a LO inspired by this card... Itself inspired by a LO (AH!)

See you soon, I hope :)

Xmas in May

Hi everyone,

So, once again, I've been REALLY bad!! But, I promise that I a really going to try and get better.

I made this card before Christmas, but I never got around to sharing it. And, since I really liked it, I thought I could share it now, even if the good weather is FINALLY here! In Montréal, we've finally had a REALLY nice week, over 20 °C.

Anyway, back to the card... :)

I used some acetate as a base and then, mounted it all until I was finally happy. I don't have a sewing machine, so I stitched by hand and tried doing two different stitches for a little interest.

It made me happy because it's different and I used different things. For example, the little card that says "joy" is from EP. The vellum at the back? It's the negative from a snowflake I cut out. Annnd, I finally used washi tape, so that pretty much rocks in my book! Always happy when I throw a little here and there.

WHAT I LIKE ABOUT THIS PROJECT

* It's different from what I usually do. I stepped out of my comfort zone, and I like it!
* Washiiiiiiii (if you didn't get it the first time)
* Am I allowed to say.................................................. EVERYTHING???

Well, I thank you for stopping by and I will try and be good, post soon!

Thank youuuuuuu,

Bonne sieste

Hello everyone,

See, aren't I gettn better? I didn't let three months go by this time!!

I'm here today with a monochromatic layout I created recently. It makes me really happy for various reasons: 1- I have been wanting to create a monochromatic LO for a while, 2- I used some stuff from many different collections :)

Soooooo, without further ado, there you go:

I had fun without mists on this background! What I did is that I put a bit of mist on the top and bottom, and then I blew with a straw. And this created this fun pattern.

I decided to be a bit more creative. So, even if I had no power on the outcome, I decided to use it anyway! And I think I really like the result.

Here are a few close-ups

A close-up of the misting and stamping.
I created this pennant shape free-hand.
The mist orange mist is Maya Road.

My first FLAIIIIR! Some journaling spot.
Some more stamping. Makes me happy!

Ajouter une légende

I used the little strip of the 6x6 pad,
hence the little hole. The orange sticker is
from the "Snap" collection from MME.

What I like about this LO:

  • I used many different collections. When you look for one colour, it seems to me that's it's really easier to find different papers.
  • I tried my hand at some "artsy stuff". I really like the result of the blowing on the misting.
  • I manage to integrate various things I like (the strip on the left hand side, the clusters)
  • I used some scraps!!
Products used:
  • The Heyday collection by SC
  • A sticker from the "Snap" collection from Simple Stories
  • Some enamel dots and washi from MME
  • Some paper from the BG "Serenade" collection
  • Mist is from Imagine and Maya Road
  • Stamps are from Lawn Fawn

Well, well, I thank you for coming by and will try and come back soon! :)
