Hello everyone,

New week, new LO!

I recently discovered "The Scrapbooking Haven" website and decided to play with this month sketch.



Not so long ago, I would have said: "Well, not my kind of sketch" and I would have looked for another one! But  that's not happening anymore! I am now trying to take the sketches and really make them my own!

So here is what I came up with:


With a few close-ups:

Used the Tim Holtz distressing tool. The border punch is the Fiskars postage stamp.

Love those Thickers!! Little letters on top are Lilly Bee Design. The scalloped piece is a Pinkpaislee Mistable. Misted it with some "Bubble gum" Maya Mist from MR.

Die cut the hearts with Sizzix dies and then embossed them! Love the result. I used washi tape to hold the paper on the die. Didn't peel it off the pinkish one because I liked the result! (At the top.)

The brad is BoBunny, the tab is AC :)

I'm really happy because I used a lot of the products I bought last week end, so I don't have to regret the purchases. Used the heart dies, the Pinkpaislee mistable, the Maya Mist, the little tiny alpha, the tab.

But I also used some stash..

STASH USED

* Bought the paper last summer, so they start to count as stash!
* The stamp was bought last June as well! It's Toga and I love this set, but we know I don't use my stamps enough, so I am trying to be better!
* The little heart at the top. I peeled it off a Martha Stewart embellishment. I figured that if I don't use the entire embellishment, at least, I should use part of it, right?!
* Washi taaaaaaaaaaaape!

WHAT I LIKE ABOUT THIS LO

* I started off with a rather "old"/vintagy looking sketch and I came up with a totally different look and feel!
* The texture provided by the distressing of the paper, the muslin ribbon, the washi tape and the embossing
* I used a stamp!!!!! :D

At first, I have to admit that I created this LO for Shimelle Laine's last starting point. I made it on time too, but I failed to submit it... Forgot or whatever. But I'll share it with you anyway, just because I love this page, this collection from BG and this picture of my fiancé and myself!


Here is the starting point:

I cut four layers of cardstock and glued them together to make the hearts. Then, I glossied accented them (what, it can't be a verb???)

Same thing for those hearts. I put some Antique Linen on the sticker to give it an aged look that fitted better on this page, according to me. Love this black paper by the way!!

Instead of stopping the strip of paper on the right, I decided to keep going to use it as a journaling strip! (Yes, I'm that kind of girl!!) The ribbon is AC

WHAT I LIKE ABOUT THIS LO



* How I created my own embellies (with the hearts)
* There are not many things on it but it doesn't need anything else, because the PP is so busy)

* The big "YOU" (I promise, One day, I'll finish one of my sticker sheets! Have you EVER finished one?)
* The "Happiness is with you" sticker (it's Cosmo Cricket if I'm not mistaken).

Today, I am sharing with you a pretty simple LO I made using a sketch from "Elle's studio".


I still have many pics to scrap from my brother's wedding, so I tend to make it quick (otherwise, I would get sick of using the same collection all the time).

WHAT I LIKE ABOUT THIS LO

* The "Smooch" I used under the title, the circles and under the pics (you can see it on the right).
* The journaling (first time I mention it). It really tells the story behing the hairdo. At first, the bride was not supposed to have bangs, but she bumped her head one or two days before the wedding, so the hairdresser had to change her plans!

I'll tell you without shame (or just with a little shame) that I did a massive haul on Sunday! Heaps of yummy goodies I fell in love with or have been dying to have for a while! Just because I love you all, I'll make a brief list (I would be too ashamed to take pics):

* Spellbinders dies (the classical scalloped circle dies and sprockers)
* "A Boy's Life", the new collection by Echo Park

Anyway, I got home, looked at my goodies for a while, and started a LO with the EP collection! And man do I love it (the collection and the result). I haven't been scrapping my lovely nephew in a while because I was feeling like I didn't have the right paper... And well, PROBLEM SOLVED!

For this LO, I started with a sketch by "Creative Scrappers" (#192)

I'll have to admit that the result is FAR from the sketch! But I'm pretty proud of that too... Not sticking to a sketch can be hard for me.

So, are you impressed with all my blogging this week?

Today, I thought I would share a LO I created on Jan., 2d. WITHOUT A SKETCH BABY! (Oops, sorry, I got carried away!).

I am sure you know Sutty, over at Fruits of my scraps... She's that great scrapper who does those AMAZING pages and doesn't even seem to realize how wonderful she is... Anyway, why am I mentioning Sutty you ask? Because I had been wanting to use "banners"/"pennants" for a while, and she won a challenge over at AC with one of her great pages! So, she and another amazing blogger, Mary Pat, over at Siehled With a Kiss, inspired me to give it a try!

So, here is what I came up with:


As, Pamela, a third GREATLY wonderful scrapper said, you can NEVER go wrong with butterflies, so...

Rub-on and sticker from the same BG collection. The label is a die cut I made using a spellbinder die and my Big Shot. The paint is just watercolour I spritzed on there! I inked the buttons and clear embossed them.

* The Cosmo Cricket sticker! I'm really happy when I get to use one!!
* All the eyelets at the top

WHAT I LIKE ABOUT THIS LO

* The inking of white buttons when I don't have the right colour for a button. I have plenty of white ones, so it's good! Plus here, the one at the button is green and blue, so I can try to create mixes :)
* The watercolour, I think it adds a nice touch and a bit of texture since some of it crackles!
* The eyelets... A different touch I think, but it works

Hello everyone,

I hope your week started well! Mine was all good :) I worked, went grocery shopping, played with the cat... The usual. On Monday though, my day at work felt sooo long... It happens sometimes, maybe because the task you're handling is not quite as interesting as the ones you usually do... But don't get me wrong, I LOOOOVE my job (I work with amazing people too), so one long day is quite fine if you ask me!

Today, I am not sharing a page but some pics of my scraproom. It's not as elaborate or decorated as some other rooms you may find, but it's my own space and I feel good in it! I might decorate it as I go, now that I'm okay with the way it's organized. I bought some wooden letters, it's a start.

QUESTION FOR MY FELLOW SCRAPBOOKERS:

Do you know any quick, simple and beautiful ways to "expose" your LOs (on the wall or whatever)? I would like to hang some of mine and be able to change them easily... Any suggestions?

So, here it is!!

I wonder if anyone has a craft space without having an Expedit!! We have books and stuff and I put my albums, it also holds my stamps, rhinestones and stickers now :) Oh and some of my paper too

My desk and shelves! Totally reorganized those! I have heaps of stuff on them: inks... more inks... punches, some embossing power, go to tools, pens, and so on!

This little basket is always on my right. It holds some paint stuff, all of my Thickers and my Big shot accessories

As usual, long time, no see... I do feel guilty, you know!

So, without further ado, let me show you a page I created this weekend for the "Sketchy Thursdays" challenge!


I really liked this sketch so I kept many things, but I did change up some others... And here is what I came up with:


This pic features my lil sis when we were at the "Casa Battlo", in Barcelona, this summer! Reminds me of the kind of pics my dad takes, in which he would put an usual object next to a well known one to compare sizes, so we wouldn't forget in the future! Well, we won't forget the size of the door... or my sister's!

Used Tim Holtz' die for the rosette

The letters are Magenta chipboard that I covered with Colorbox ink and clear embossed to get a colour that would coordinate with my papers

For the buttons, I did the same thing: Colorbox inks and clear embossing!

Here, I used "Calico White" Mister Huey. The "Date" and "Photos" stamps are from Toga and the punck is EK Success.

* All the punches... I don't use them as much as I should
* The buttons... I have LOADS of them... Bought them in bulk and two weeks ago, I decided to organize them by colour! It was quite soothing, good therapy!!
* The stamps and the ink!!


WHAT I LIKE ABOUT THIS LO


* I didn't follow the sketch to the letter (can I even say that in English... We do say it in French but...)
* I finally managed to get the effect I wanted with the Mr Huey mist
* All the papers don't come from the same collection but it works!

So here, I used a sketch from Creative Scrappers (#186)

Used some "Vintage Photo" disress ink and the Tim Holtz distressing tool to age the two strips on the side. As for the one on the middle,  I used some clear crackle paint

I used the Martha Stewart butterfly punch and I cut the flower out of one of the PP. I used two diff. set of alphas, some Thickers and the BG one (the red one)

WHAT I LIKE ABOUT THIS LO

* I was not sure of where it was heading... And I got a little scare when clustering, but in the end, I didn't give up and am happy with the result!
* I'm happy I FINALLY used this butterfly punch
* I started working more on the papers by distressing and aging them

I haven't been posting in a while (ONCE AGAIN)... I know it's bad but I have been re-organizing my scraproom (not decorating, organizing...). I can't wait to scrap in it! I'll be taking pics this week I think!

So, today, I am sharing a LO inspired by one of the LOs Shannon Tidwell created for the Dec. "Products you love every which way" class at 2Peas.

So, here is a LO with a pic we took in 2010 during our trip to France! It was our favorite day, Sam loved to play with my sister's kids, it was AWE-SOME!!

First of all, let me wish you the very best for this new year. May it be filled with success, love and everything you could wish for... Particularly for those of you who had a rough 2011 (but for the others too).

Even if last year was not bad for me, I am hoping to do better this year... To stop wanting and start acting... Seems simple, but it's quite hard for me (dunno why, it's in me I guess).

For this new year, I am going to show you the very first LO I made in 2012 (I didn't create a whole lot anyway... just 2!). I had a stack of pictures that featured the same event (my birthday last year), but I didn't know how to arrange them... Then, I saw this LO from Amy Tangerine and  I thought it would be a perfect starting point. I loved how she mixed the textures, the stripes and the stamping. Some of you may know that I love stamping but I never know how to incorporate it well, and here, it seemed perfect! Then, I "pushed the LO further" by creating kind of a "mini" book with the pictures. I only put tags inside to decorate since I thought the paper was "heavy" and beautiful enough.

But, let me show you the result:

WHAT I LIKE ABOUT THIS PROJECT

* I took a LO that I used as a "basic sketch" and I made it mine... And I feel like it worked!
* I am really happy I created this flower. At first, I just wanted to use the lace, but it was curling up as I was applying the distress stain, so it made me think of this!
* I included 7 photos and it's not too bulky or too busy
