My Superhero

Hello ladies,

I'll tell you without shame (or just with a little shame) that I did a massive haul on Sunday! Heaps of yummy goodies I fell in love with or have been dying to have for a while! Just because I love you all, I'll make a brief list (I would be too ashamed to take pics):

* Jenni Bowlin paint dabbers
* Maya Mists
* On the Edge die by Tim Holtz
* Spellbinders dies (the classical scalloped circle dies and sprockers)
* "A Boy's Life", the new collection by Echo Park
* Some ribbon
* The "Hooray" stamp set by Hero Arts
* Two Amy Tangerine fabric paper sheets
*Some Amy Tan's goodies
* A few sheets of small alphas (among others, a sheet with multiple colours by Lilly Bee Design)
* I'll stop here... Shame is coming up! But I'll let you know when using the products :p

Anyway, I got home, looked at my goodies for a while, and started a LO with the EP collection! And man do I love it (the collection and the result). I haven't been scrapping my lovely nephew in a while because I was feeling like I didn't have the right paper... And well, PROBLEM SOLVED!

For this LO, I started with a sketch by "Creative Scrappers" (#192)

I'll have to admit that the result is FAR from the sketch! But I'm pretty proud of that too... Not sticking to a sketch can be hard for me.

So, here is it:

And, of course, a few close-ups

Don't know why the legends wouldn't work properly, so I'll make the comments here!

1 - The clouds are from my new Hero Arts stamps! I used Peeled paint distress ink and some Jenni Bowlin ink. For the yellow one, I used the "Lemon Drops" paint dabber, I love the texture it gives!!

2 - A few thickers (Fantastic, Dear Lizzy and AC) and for the "my", I used stickers from the EP collection.

3 - The tag comes from one of the EP papers ! I loved it, so I thought I had to use it... I am really trying to make an effort and use different kind of things!

4 - See the amazing sprockets, I LOVE THEM!!! I see myself using them a lot... lots and lots and lots!

WHAT I LIKE ABOUT THIS LO

* You might think "man, she's CRAZY", she cut out every single sheet of paper for this LO! But fear not, I did not! I decided to use the little strips that they put ont he presentation page (you know the one they put on top of the collection in the pack). I cut out the strips and they were the perfect size!! (Thriftyyyy.. I can use this word again, AWESOME!)

* I love how I managed to put in some paint! For some reason, I find the dabbers less intimidating than the paint.

* I loved using my Big Shot a few times for this!

* I am happy I managed to get away from the original sketch :)

STASH USED

* The different eyelets! I've had them FOR MONTHS and never used them! But here, they were just perfect (or so I think).

Well, I hope you like it as much as I do!

Have a great day :)

  4. Wow! Your layout is wonderful! I don't think it has to mimic the original sketch (sketches are just a spring board to me) You really captured the fun in the photo! And what a haul you made. I'm waiting on an order to come in, but I did not buy one single paper...I will have to remedy that since I love the papers you used!!
